Diana Jimenez Alvarado is a graduate of the University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications. Diana graduated with a Bachelor of Science in public relations with an outside concentration in event management. Diana aspires to work somewhere where her passion for event management, social media, content creation, CSR, and corporate partnerships intersect in motorsports, sports, entertainment, or the tourism and hospitality industry.
During her time at UF, she was involved with the Hispanic Student Association, the Public Relations Student Society of America, and the multicultural sorority, Gamma Eta Sorority, Inc.
Within HSA, she was selected to join its premier first-year leadership program, the Member Leadership Program, upon completing the program she became a leader in its cabinet. In her second year, she became the marketing director for the program, where she increased social media impressions and followers by 73%. She managed a team where she mentored members on how to use content creation software and delegated marketing creation tasks.
During her third year with HSA, she became the visual media director, she would capture candid and professional photos of all the events HSA had hosted throughout the year. In this role, she curated an organized folder of photos to use for promotional material and content creation.
Outside of the Hispanic/Latin scoop on campus, Diana was the Director of Communications for UF PRSSA’s 2021 Sunshine District Conference. In the role, she maintained communication with over 50 universities and colleges in the Southeastern region of the US during the COVID-19 pandemic. She sent constant updates concerning the conference through innovative storytelling and brand cohesion.
Aside from Diana’s leadership involvement at UF, she is passionate about sparking open dialogue about mental health awareness, particularly in the Hispanic/Latin community; diversity and inclusion in organizations; and spending time with her family and friends. When Diana isn’t doing schoolwork, she enjoys spending her free time reading, all things Disney, and keeping up with Formula One.
